A diagnostic audiometer performs measurements on air, bone conduction threshold levels. It also performs diagnostic additionally measurement for speech threshold levels. If the audiometer screening test indicates a moderate to severe loss of hearing then a hearing professional or ENT should perform a hearing test using a diagnostic audiometer to evaluate the patient hearing lost.
